Xur Calls to Eternity: How Destiny 2 Celebrates Bungie's 30th Anniversary
By the way, the creators of the Halo series, the American studio Bungie, have an anniversary this year. To celebrate, online game from the developer Friv2Online Games Studio makers have released a 30th Anniversary DLC pack for Destiny 2, delighting regulars with free content and discounts on the digital store. We'll tell you what's what.
Since December 7, 2021, the mysterious agent of the Nine Zurs has been calling all the guards who have arrived in the system to Eternity, a dimension in the interworld that exists at the junction of the parauniverses. The event, organized according to the wormy one by some Unthinkable Steed, opens the Eternity Challenge activity, available for free to absolutely all players with a power level of 1150 or more.
A six-player Auto-Matched Offensive will challenge Guardians to battle across three arenas against randomly selected groups of opponents. In the first two stages, the opponent will be determined by the wheel of danger, and the final one will be chosen by the players by standing on one of the pressure plates with symbols engraved on them.
Fights will take place according to the patterns familiar to guardians: battles with waves of opponents (including modified warriors), breaking through the shields of Eternity commanders with the help of summoning blocks, throwing parauniversal energy balls into the centers of pestilence of the possessed, and so on. During skirmishes, the horse will provide the guards with reinforcements, and during breaks, he will invite you to the "freaky" obstacle course.
The timer limits the time of passing each arena, but you can die here as much as you like - this place was created for the entertainment of the guards and the skill requirements are low. Like every other Destiny 2 collective activity, Eternity's Challenge received daily and weekly challenges (to complete on hard difficulty).
Completing the Eternity Challenge will reward guards with some equipment, sometimes Shadow Engrams, as well as strange coins and keys to Xur's Treasury, a small but richly decorated location with chests that can only be opened when you reach a certain rank of patronage of the mount.
The old-fashioned rank swings as you complete daily and weekly contracts from Xur and the horse directly. Both are in the treasury and send the guards to the “Challenge of Eternity”, and as a reward for accomplishments they give out anniversary emotions, skins and kits for painting equipment. Coins, by the way, can be exchanged with a horse for a contract, a box with a paracosmic catch, glitter, engrams or keys to the treasury.
As a gift, all players will have the opportunity to drop or loot from treasure chests exclusive collectible guns that Bungie brought to Destiny from their other projects. These include the Marathon Wastelander Shotgun, the Halo-themed BXR-55 Action Pulse Rifle, the friv game's first Legendary Better Path Beam Rifle, and more.
And finally, a new exotic pistol, the Precursor, to obtain which you will have to complete a chain of orders from the Starhorse. This is a fully automatic weapon for the kinetic slot, with high-caliber ammo, increased rate of fire and increased damage against enemies without shields.
The Eververse Store now has a Holiday Gifts section where Silver can be used to purchase new spectacular emotes, as well as decorations for armor and weapons. For example, the many-eyed "Brain Grin" for the Omnioculus exotic breastplate, costing 600 silver.
Among other things, as part of the Moments of Triumph event, the friv game has additional achievements that will reward the most diligent guardians with a new ghost skin and sparrow, emblems, seals, and even merchandise from the Bungie digital store.
As for the paid part of the DLC, here igrodely became generous thoroughly. Firstly, players who purchase the Bungie 30th Anniversary Bundle will have access to the Vise of Greed, a fairly spacious and exciting dungeon on the territory of the Cosmodrome, associated with the “loot cave” known from the first part of Destiny, where the first guards often went.
The instance is designed for three players with a power level of 1310 or more, and the quest in the dungeon is given by Shaw Khan, who discovered a fragment of an old engram in the “loot cave”, which the guards will have to gradually restore. The reward will be the legendary Gjallarhorn, an exotic launcher from Destiny 1 with ammo that explodes into multiple homing cluster missiles.
There, in the Vice of Greed, you can also get a catalyst for a rocket launcher, which will speed up the reloading of the Gjallarhorn and create even more powerful additional missiles if the homing cluster munitions hit the target.
Players who purchase the DLC will be able to get their hands on Thorn-style armor and unique weapons like the Eyaslun or Myth Blade, unique exotic helmet ornaments, several exotic emotes, a sparrow, a ship, and two exclusive decoration sets: Marathon- inspired armor and a very unusual set of "street-style" outfits for guardians.
Bungie's 30th Anniversary DLC is being sold in two editions: a bundle that includes all the features and rewards described above, and a deluxe bundle that includes additional items, including physical collectible gifts from the studio. Check out the Bungie offerings at the link below.
